NOTE: I have changed this to load the whole applet from a single zip
file, if you have problems with this please let me know. It should
help speed up the download of the applet.
For those of you with big screens and fast computers, try this:
HiRes MOF/LOF
What the buttons and boxes do:
Text entry boxes on the right are for entring your Lat/Lon, the
current SF, A, and K indices, and the month, day, and time. You can
click on the map(only the rectangular format map) to enter Lat/Lon.
The Buttons:
'Compute' starts computation based on data in fields.
'Next Hour' increments the time field by 1 hour and recomputes.
'Now!' sets the current date and time and recomputes.
The check boxes:
'SP MOF' displays the short path MOF(red=10m, green=15m, blue=20m)
'LP MOF' displays the long path MOF(red=10m, green=15m, blue=20m)
'SP LOF' displays the short path LOF(red=160m, green=80m, blue=40m)
'LP LOF' displays the long path LOF(red=160m, green=80m, blue=40m)
'Rectangular' the default map projection
'North Polar' converts map to a polar projection from the North Pole
'South Polar' converts map to a polar projection from the South Pole
'Polar QTH' converts map to a polar projection from your QTH
'SUN' displays sun rise(solid circles) and sun set(open circles)
'QTH' displays your QTH as solid white circle
'Paths' displays great circle paths from your QTH
Keyboard:
TAB and Shift-TAB now work to move through the data entry fields and pushbuttons.
ENTER works on the 'Compute','Next Hour', and 'Now!' buttons, even though the buttons don't look like they get pushed.
NOTE: the polar projections may take some time to generate depending on
your machines speed. The North and South Polar projections take about 5
seconds on my 100 MHz Pentium, the Polar projection from your QTH takes
about 15 seconds. I don't think I am using the most efficient method
for generating these so hopefully I can speed them up in the future.
